NOTICE TO WASCC STAFF AND MEMBERS. 24/11/11.
Site works for the upgrade of facilities is to commence shortly. Site set-up and mobilisation will commence Monday November 28th. This will include:-
- Separation cut of the building south of Race Office. Mr Cully’s unit will be partly demolished– to be re-constructed later.
- Removal / relocation of the food outlet west of Race Office and the coffee hut under Race Control.
- Repositioning of the Tuning Day portable to a position at the edge of the embankment - this to house the temporary phone MDF.
- A new pit for and provision of temporary hook-up of incoming and outgoing telephone lines adjacent to the stairs to pit lane.
- Removal of the infield bore equipment and the installation and commissioning of the new bore at the rear of MaCracken House.
- Under road boring, trenching and pipe installations between the new bore and the two 20,000 litre tanks northwest of north ramp.
- Hand excavations at various locations on site to locate / identify / confirm cable, pipe and control wire positions.
- Stockpiling of limestone materials for the infield pit earthworks – in the carpark outside the fence at the south end.
- Erection of Construction signs and designation of construction zones around the facility.
- Survey and marking out of the infield facilities.
All this work will be in progress between 28th November and 9th December.
On Sunday December 11th, after the final race meeting of the year Saturday December 10th, contractors and WASCC volunteers will descend on the Race Office / Race Control building to disconnect, demount, remove and store all equipment, furniture, fittings, aerials, speakers, floodlights, air-conditioners, cables, plugs, filing cabinets, photocopiers, coffee machines, ATMs fridges, racks and anything else which may be used later. All this will be labelled and stored in lockup garages behind WASCC Offices. As of 12th December Barbagallo Raceway will essentially be a ‘construction site’. Construction areas will be marked / taped / signed and all construction areas will be under the control of the Main Contractor Diploma, or WASCC Contractors. WASCC Staff and Members will have access to non-construction areas including MaCracken House and most garages. The WASCC Offices and workshop will function as normal. There will be heavy equipment and trucks using access roads and internal roads around the paddock area as well as South ramp.
For safety reasons, members wishing to access their garages are asked to give prior notification via the WASCC office. Coordination of traffic movement can then be made with the site Supervisor.
