Jack’s Hill – 27th August 2017

The first ever CAMS Club Challenge to be held in the west was a huge success for those who entered the event with ten teams representing nine CAMS affiliated Clubs. With $5000 in Prize money an incentive it was game on. Fine weather prevailed on the day with plenty of hot competition on the hill and great camaraderie in the paddock throughout the day.

At the end of the day with points being scored by each team, Team SSES representing the WA Sporting Car Club won the day by just 0.66 of a point. We were represented by Andrew Morrison (1984 BMW 323i), Mathew Turner (2015 Ford Focus ST), Grant Meldrum (Mercedes Benz AMG 63) and Mark Tamblyn (Ford Falcon AU XR8).

WRX Club of WA finished a very close second with their Subaru WRX STi brigade made up of Jamie Lister, Mat Softly, Steve Pummer and Matt O’Neal. Whilst 3rd went to the Lots of Trouble one of two teams representing Club Lotus of Australia, with the Lotus Elise S2’s  of Andrew Graham, Steve Metlitzky, Richard Cooper and the Westfield Preston John Adams of finishing just 0.95 points behind the winning team.

The Infinite Time Attack Team representing the Competition Drivers Club of WA, though being a long time CAMS club entered an event for the first time with Geoff Duckworth (Honda Civic, Kim Yong Pang (Honda Civic), Daniel Chong (EVO 10) and Minh Hieu Nguyen (EVO 6).

Many thanks to all the Officials who assisted with the event that ran extremely smoothly and to CAMS for their support.
